Alcoholics Anonymous

Be Part of SFVG

People helping People is the overall theme of Alcoholics Anonymous.

We all have something to give to others. A Special Talent,  A Kind Action,  A Smile, A Warm Hello,  Embrace & Show Gratitude, Volunteer and  Donate.

Be part of,and your life will change, and so will the people around you.  We welcome all the great experiences you have to share with us.

Everybody you encounter has a personal struggle, a life challenge right now. Some big, some small,  however, these are important to them right now. Be kind, Show compassion, Be Hopeful,  Ask your Higher Power for direction, Share the struggle if possible.  A little
kindness will go a long way.

Sincerely offer your time, services, and financial resources to Alcoholics Anonymous.

We are Blessed to be a Blessing.
How to work Step 12 in action.

We can be the ones who take on the unspectacular but important tasks that make good Twelfth Step work possible,

Step 12, Time = Service = Just Ask
Arrive Early & help with meeting setups, pre-cleaning, or any commitments. Staying after meeting to assist with additional house keeping tasks, take initiative and do it, show you care. Or just raise your hand and ask > what can I  do?

Step 12, Regularly bring in food.
Snacks are always a treat during meetings. It can be  just about anything. Some suggestions, cookies, cake, candy, donuts, pizza, chips, if you enjoy it, bring it! We love it all.

Step 12, Giving with our heart.
Suggested donations are the minimum  needed to operate successfully. It takes a lot to run an organization that offers all these services and benefits.

It is understanding that  AA, the 12 Steps and a Higher Power helped us get here, and stay here. This requires less self, and more giving. In reflection, did we drink more than our meeting contribution? Or this? What can I skip this week, the extra coffee, soda, or a buying lunch out today so that I can provide more financial support to AA. By donating more, I can help the people who come in after me enjoy the Spiritual Life AA offers.

Page 181: Sense of duty.
It is a pleasure. Because in so doing I am paying my debt to the man who took time to pass it on to me. Because every time I do it I take out a little more insurance for myself against a possible slip.

See the Posters at the club for more details on how to help.  Be Part of  and your life will change.

If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and then make a change. MJ

When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that:  I am responsible.

A DECLARATION OF UNITY
This we owe to A.A.’s future:
To place our common welfare first;
to keep our fellowship united.
For on  A.A. unity depend our lives
and the lives of those to come.
